Dean McCoy Retires after 42 years of Service!

Thank you to Dean McCoy for over 40 years of service to Ellwood City Forge! Dean began his career in the sales office of Ellwood City Forge and became ECF’s Sales Manager. Dean decided to hit the road and became an outside sales person for Cooper-Curran, Inc., where he has served ECF and other companies for the past 27 years. Dean’s experience and knowledge of the forging industry has made him a tremendous asset and someone that we will miss!

Ellwood Welcomes Guy Brada

Ellwood City Forge is pleased to welcome Guy Brada in the role of Technical Sales Service Manager.  Upon joining Ellwood Group, Inc., Guy worked with Ellwood Materials Technology (EMT), EGI’s research and development group.

Guy possesses over 25 years of experience in metallurgy.  Prior to joining Ellwood he was employed as the Director of Quality and Product Development at Finkl Steel Company.  Previous employment includes working as the Chief Metallurgist at A. Finkl & Sons Company and FPM Heat Treating, as well as Senior Metallurgical Engineer/Consultant with Bodycote Materials Testing.

He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in metallurgical and materials engineering from Colorado School of Mines.  He has numerous publications and several patents.

Guy will be based in Chicago, IL, where he lives with his family.  Guy will be working with all four facilities under the Ellwood City Forge Group, performing research and development and assisting our customers with finding solutions to their technical challenges.


Ron Brattin Joins ECF Sales Team

We are pleased to announce that Ron Brattin has joined the Ellwood City Forge Group as an independent sales agent under his newly formed company, RJ Elias Company LLC.  Ron’s expertise and experience is with critical, ultra-clean steel applications – particularly those requiring Electro Slag Remelt (ESR) and Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR).   Ron will work from his office near Canton, Ohio.

We look forward to working with Ron as we develop successful solutions for our customers’ ultra-clean steel requirements in the Aerospace, Power Generation, and other industries.  ECFG currently provides remelted materials (ESR and VAR) in many forms including bar, billet and custom forgings.    Please contact Ron at or ECF directly at to learn more about our ultra-clean solutions for your business.
