Thanks to everyone who participated or donated to Ellwood City Forge Group’s 2018 Relay for Life Team — TEAM ECFG! The Ellwood City Relay is our area’s event to raise money and show support for those battling cancer. It was a beautiful day with more than 15 teams, 20 vendors, live music, and a beautiful memorial candlelight ceremony at dusk.
The Relay is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking a designated path. Each team is asked to have a member on the path at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. In addition, each team has a fundraising tent and continues to collect donations toward their goal. ECFG sold cookies, candy, water and chances for a 50/50 raffle.
By the end of the event, we collected over $5000 towards our goal of $5500! If you haven’t donated and would like to donate, there is still time. Please visit our team page at: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/?fr_id=86278&pg=team&team_id=2336579
Thank you Team ECFG!

Congressman Keith Rothfus and his staff visited EGI and ECF on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. The Congressman is the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 12th Congressional District. The 12th District includes all of Beaver County and parts of Allegheny, Cambria, Lawrence, Somerset, and Westmoreland Counties.
After an introductory presentation of ECF, the group toured the ECF facilities and had the opportunity to see many of our products and processes. We particularly stressed to our Congressman the importance of shale/unconventional drilling and Naval work to our long-term success.
So inspired after listening to J.R. Martinez during the AGMA Annual Meeting! J.R. is an Iraq War Veteran, Actor and winner of “Dancing with the Stars.” He has an absolutely amazing story of persevering in the midst of tragedy and adapting to change to create a happy and fulfilling life. If you don’t know the story, you should check it out.
Ellwood City Forge is at the 2018 AGMA Annual Meeting in Naples, FL. We are looking forward to the sessions and the discussions on critical topics related to the gear market. ECF has been a supplier of forgings to the gear industry for over 100 years – gear blanks, pinion shafts, and other custom forged items.
We have again sponsored the popular photo booth during the Welcome Reception on Friday night, April 27, 2018. Stop by the booth, grab a costume and take a fun picture! We also have Rosalind chocolate bars to give away (homemade in Western Pennsylvania). Hope to see you there!
Thank you to Dean McCoy for over 40 years of service to Ellwood City Forge! Dean began his career in the sales office of Ellwood City Forge and became ECF’s Sales Manager. Dean decided to hit the road and became an outside sales person for Cooper-Curran, Inc., where he has served ECF and other companies for the past 27 years. Dean’s experience and knowledge of the forging industry has made him a tremendous asset and someone that we will miss!
We wish you well in your retirement!
